PRDS station is a steam conditioning unit with prefabricated inlet, outlet and bypass piping. The inlet Steam Pressure Reducing Cum Desuperheating Station station is high pressure superheated steam and what comes out of PRDS station is low pressure and low temperature steam i.e. Steam PRDS is used for Steam Conditioning Services for reduction of pressure and temperature of steam. It is a combination of Control Valve for the pressure reduction purpose and atomizing nozzles through which water is sprayed into steam for reducing the temperature.
PRDS can be of two types:
- Combined PRDS: Both PRV and Desuperheater in a compact single unit (Combined PRDS Valve)
